Soaring Ambitions
Ambition has funded on Gamefound, including a Fable by us! There's also a ton happening with all of our Kickstarters and other projects.
First off, we have several new people joining the citadel by way of our Temperamental Upgrades Kickstarter. Thank you for your support, and welcome to Missives from the Citadel, our periodic newsletter where we inform you of the latest and greatest happenings from within the infinite.
So let's do that, starting with...

Ambition is a psychological Daoist tarot fantasy tactics TTRPG. That's a lot! (one might say ambitious) But the short version is that this is a game from a fellow indie creator that is so much of what we love about gaming. It has a clear artistic vision for what it wants to accomplish and how it wants to reach those goals. It has incredible art and a truly immense amount of mechanics; definitely not style over substance. If you want a quick version of what playing this game is like, think Disco Elysium meets Greek mythology with tarot cards injecting unpredictable, powerful narrative.
And if we didn't have enough reason to love this project, Yanni - the creator - invited us to create a Fable as part of the Gamefound campaign's stretch goals. That stretch goal just got hit, so we want to share this game's amazing success and let you know that supporting the project (assuming you haven't already) doesn't just support the incredible folks at Press Betwixt, but also us here at Infinite Citadel.
Here's a quick dive into what our Fable (basically an adventure module) will get into:
The Weight of Want
This is a story about the costs necessary to attain your desire, and the grief of choices not fully understood. Piecers - named for the pieces of themselves that they use as trade - are a recent sect of harpies (and other like-minded folk) that do not fit neatly into the dialectic of Gnoth. All who live within their walls are bound to their laws. Their needs are met, but their lives are static... unless their heart's desire is worthy of sacrifice. All trade is in the ineffable. Pieces of the self must be shorn off and traded away to acquire that which will chance their place in society. To pursue is to lose, and pray that whatever is gained is what you truly wanted.
We are so excited to add this Fable to Ambition's already immense catalogue of content. Go back the campaign and even more might be unlocked, including Fables by Alex Teplitz and Jay Dragon!

Mörk Sol
This Saturday, November 1st, we will be launching the Mörk Sol Kickstarter! We've nearly reached 1k pre-launch followers. As we make the final push towards launch, the renders for everything on offer are coming together and we could not be more excited about this campaign.

Temperamental Upgrades
We have the books in our possession! There have been a few printing & shipping errors getting them to us, but we're getting those resolved as quickly as possible. We've got enough to get started and are excited about the quality, as you can see in the quick flip-through video:
We're also finalizing the PDF version and are hoping to get that out to backers before November 12th. Why that date?
Before the Bog God
Those who backed Before the Bog God are currently filling out their surveys and getting us the info we need to get them their rewards. This project is cruising along at the speed of as-fast-as-Kickstarter-will-let-us. We're hopeful that we will get rewards to us (and ready to ship out, same as Temp Upgrades) before PaxU. That means that, if all goes according to plan with the printers, you'll be doing wish rituals before the holiday season!
Digital Store
We hyped up our digital storefront coming soon in our last missive. We are still actively pursuing that, but we don't want to launch without...
- Enough physical product ready for you to buy.
- All of the glitches ironed out and tested.
On the first point, once Temperamental Upgrades & Before the Bog God are well into fulfillment, that will be a good sign that we have the stock necessary to go live.
And for the second point, we have reached out to a few of our backers that weren't able to complete the pledge manager. Right now our digital store is being used as a pseudo pledge manager so we can get shipping and taxes taken care of. With these first few customers helping us debug, we're confident that when we launch, it will be glorious.
